যে সকল শিক্ষার্থী বি.সি.এস (BCS) পরীক্ষার জন্য প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছেন বা নিবেন তাদের সুবিধার্থে আমরা এখানে বি.সি.এস পরীক্ষার সিলেবাস নিয়ে পূর্নাঙ্গ আলোচনা করেছি। আসা করি বি.সি.এস (BCS) পরীক্ষার প্রস্তুতিতে আপনারা কিছুটা হলেও উপকৃত হবেন।

BCS Examination: BCS Exams are held for 27 different cadres.

AGE
i)  21 to 30 years (for General candidates)
ii) 21 to 32 years:
     a) For Freedom Fighter's Children and Health cadre.
     b) Tribal candidates for only general education cadre."

Place of Examination:

Preliminary Test and written examinations are held in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet and Rangpur.

There are 3 Successive stages in the BCS examination (please see below)-

1. Preliminary Test

This examination is a screening test conducted on the following pattern:

(For 200 number of MCQ type Questions having 1 mark for each correct answer but deduction of 0.5 mark for each incorrect answer)

2. Written Examination

The Minimum average qualifying marks shall be 50%. A candidate securing less than 30% marks in any subject shall be deemed to have secured no marks in that subject. Marks Distribution for Written Examination is given bellow.

i) For General Cadres

ii) For technical cadres:

iii) One applying for both cadres: Compulsory subjects of general cadre and two post related subjects.

3. Viva Voce Examination:

Each successful candidate after the written examination shall be interviewed by a board to be constituted by the commission in this behalf. The minimum qualifying marks for the viva is 50%.

Final Merit Tabulation: 
Final merit list is prepared on the basis of written and viva marks of the successful candidates.

Quota Distribution: 
The Quota is distributed on the basis of final merit list, quota reserved for matching the choice of the candidates and the availability of the posts. Percentage of Quota distribution is as follows:
i)  Merit - 45%
ii) Quota- 55%
     a) Freedom Fighters or Daughters/Sons of Freedom Fighters or Grandchild of Freedom Fighters - 30%
     b) Female - 10%
     c) Tribal - 5%
     d) District Quota - 10%
